A skilled player will be able to reach great heights with the add-ons and buffs, but they won't make a lazy player good. Learning how to grab combos, aim at the fruit, shoot through lines of balls, and other tricks to pad your score are more important than many of the powers anyway. I never felt hobbled by the natural progression of the game. The hyper-competitive may want to buy things to help them progress, but you'll gain enough powers and Mojo by simply playing that you'll never need to dip into your wallet if you're moderately patient. There's also the frogatars which can be unlocked, these are simply avatars for playing. The more you play the more levels you'll unlock, like the lava level above. These stars will then level you up and upgrade your ranks, which then in return unlock extra power-ups. There's really a lot of ways to gain a better score in this game and by playing a round you earn stars. There's also fruit lying around the levels which give you a better score when interacted with. Some balls have other qualities, like adding extra time, exploding on impact or multiplying your score. Clearing these balls is done by shooting same colored balls against them. The objective in Zuma Blitz is to clear rows of balls rolling around the level. And for good reason, because this game goes a long way with tournaments, many power-ups, great combo mechanics and ways to keep the player entertained. Zuma Blitz is one of the most played puzzle games on Facebook.
